Hemp Bags - Fashionable, Excellent Quality, Durable and Doesn’t Cost the Earth
A Bit of Background
Hemp has been used for thousands of years - in clothing, canvas for ships and artists, paints, paper, building materials and of course rope. The seed, which is high in protein, was even used to make gruel. It provided 80% of clothing up to the 1920s but was then over taken by petroleum-based synthetic textiles.
Environmentally Better
Hemp requires minimal pesticides or herbicides to grow thus creating significantly less pollution. Up to half of pesticides used in the US are used on cotton. This makes hemp more environmentally sustainable than cotton. The last few years have seen a huge growth in hemp products around the world with US and Germany leading the way.
